Our organic farm
Our „Unterhölzlhof“ can be defined as an organic farm. In the production of all our products we avoid the use of chemical products. All the products are therefore organic products.
Though pretty small compared to the most farms nowadays, our farm is very versatile. This is in fact our strength: we breed cows and calves, some hogs, goats, and different small animals such as chickens, cats and rabbits. On our fields we grow crop, vegetables and potatoes for our animals.
To delight our guests we offer following home grown and self made products:
• eggs
• spelt and spelt flour
• wheat and wheat flour
• "Kaminwurzen" (a sort of regional spicy sausage) and Salami
• speck
• potatoes
• good cheese, milk and jogurt
• rye

Why spelt pillows?
Spelt is an ancient grain, a "grandparent" of modern wheat. Spelt contains up to 90% of silicic acid which acts positively on the organs through the skin. The silicic acid is an important component of human connective tissues and strengthens body’s defences against different diseases.
Herbal lore recommends spelt in case of headaches, migraines, pains in one’s shoulders, irritation, vein complaints, sleeplessness and pain in one’s eyes and ears. The silicic acid helps to reduce pains also in case of purulent frontal and maxillary sinusitis. Better concentration, relief of asthma cases and higher resistance against coughs and sneezes represent further positive effects spelt has on human body.
